Almost fifty years ago, I came across a quote that I’ve carried with me ever since. People often credit it to Kurt Vonnegut or Hunter S. Thompson, but as far as I know, it started with a motorcycle mechanic. I adapted it a little along the way:

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, taco in one hand, beer in the other, scuffed up, totally worn out, and shouting: Holy smokes! That was one hell of a ride.”

That’s how I want to cross the finish line in Vigo.
