At Candid, we build clear aligner solutions for general dentists. Dr. Brian Gray is one of them, and he is also our Chief Dental Officer. In 2027, he will take on the Global Solo Challenge: alone, non-stop and self-supported around the world aboard Kawan.
We support Brian because his campaign reflects what we believe about our profession. The qualities that make a great dentist are steady hands, careful preparation and methodical problem-solving. Those are the same qualities that will carry him through the Southern Ocean.
Brian has been working toward this race since he taught himself to sail at sixteen. Along the way, he logged more than 30,000 ocean miles. He also built a successful practice in Washington, DC, and earned both a Fellowship and a Mastership with the Academy of General Dentistry.
He is also an endurance athlete at heart. Over [##] years he has completed [##] marathons and [##] triathlons, and that has built the mental and physical willpower a solo circumnavigation demands.
